No 483: Real Wedding: Lauren and Zach

Sunday, April 18, 2010

Lauren and Zach's rustic Athens, Georgia wedding was held on the Epting Property, full of restored barns, lovely homes and lots of open space. The bridesmaids donned brown cowboy boots with their sweet blue dresses for this homespun April wedding, and many of the DIY elements were lovingly made by friends. The girls rode to the wedding in a vintage red truck, hiding the bride from sight. Immediately after the ceremony, guests were greeted with mason jars of vanilla lemonades, mojitos or sweet peach tea-how very Southern. I love the bride's bouquet, wrapped in burlap and lace, and the entire event was a beautiful juxtaposition of traditional wedding elements and rural hallmarks.

The single most touching element of this real wedding, however, was the groom's ring. Made from the gold from both his grandfathers' rings, it was melted and hammered to create an organic, tree-bark inspired design. How beautiful.

The whole wedding was perfectly captured by Our Labor of Love.
